The opening chop is designed to wreck you
At 9:30 a whole night's worth of orders floods the market at once. Big players are filling size. That isn't direction. It's noise, and it swings both ways.
Most traders try to trade inside it. They see a green bar, they buy. Size sells into them. The price reverses. Stopped out before 10.
That's the liquidity trap.
So we ignore the first 15 minutes. Completely.
The busiest minutes of the day are the worst minutes to guess in. Snap Trades waits with the patience of a sniper. It lets the first 15-minute candle trade, all of that volume, all of those eyes, and uses what it leaves behind.
Every session starts with positioning. Large players need time and volume to build their positions, and while they do, price sits in a temporary range. Once the positioning is done, pressure releases and price moves with intent. The zone forms in the balance; the snap comes in the transition.
What Snap Trades looks for
The Trap Box
The first 15-minute candle sets the Snap Zone: its high and its low, drawn on the chart. We wait for a 15-minute candle to close outside it.
The Trend Glow
We never swim upstream. The opening candle sets the side: it closed up, longs only; it closed down, shorts only.
Stocks in play only
The first 15 minutes have to trade at least 1.5× their usual volume. An ordinary open is drawn, not called.
Then the first close out of the box is the trade
Entry on the close that broke it, one stop, one target at twice the risk, all on the card in Snap Trades Live. These are real ones, drawn on our own 15-minute charts:
In the last 30 days Snap Trades Live called 550 Snaps on 231 different stocks, and 113 reached the target. Every one, wins and losses, is on the scorecard inside.
Past calls, shown as they happened. Not a promise about the next one: some calls get stopped out.
Done by the bell. Every day.
- Wait. 9:30 to 9:45 the Snap Zone forms. Grab a coffee. Do nothing.
- Filter. The opening candle sets the side, and only the stocks really in play make the list. Ben's Snap briefing shows them.
- Confirm. Snap Trades Live marks the breakout: the first 15-minute close out of the zone, on the open's side.
- Execute. Entry, stop and target are on the card. Target, stop, or the last candle of the day. Never held overnight.
